ohm studio video cohmpetition rules

Back to Cohmpetion main page

  1. This cohmpetition will work this way: you’ll make your video submission, upload it to You Tube or Dailymotion, then send us an email to  cohmpetition@ohmforce.com with the video link. We gonna watch them one by one to avoid really stupid videos, then we’re gonna post your video at our blog what will mean that you already deserve your instant prize and are officially participating in the contest. The deadline for sending us your submission is d. We’re going to receive and post video tutorials until friday June 6th 2009.
  2. Each person/band can submit only one video tutorial.
  3. Videos must be at least 3 minutes long.
  4. Language used in videos must be ENGLISH. Not everybody understands finnish or brazilian portuguese, so please speak in english. We don’t care about accents, we care about music.
  5. You can use demo versions (and/or the free standalone versions) of our plug-ins to make your video tutorial. In addition of video, you can use animation. You can use special effects. You’re free to choose the hardware/softwares you’re going to use to capture video from your screen, edit audio and video, etc. You’re also free to choose wich sequencer/DAW or virtual studio you’re going to use to demonstrate our plugs and your tricks. It could be software you already own, or demo versions. Of course you’re completely free to choose where you’re going to host your videos, but it must be You Tube or Dailymotion.
  6. All video submissions will be posted at the front page of the Ohm Side of the Moon, and at the same time posted here altogether; so everybody will be able to check them out at anytime. Need some inspiration? Take a look at this one, or maybe these, then forget them all and do something with your own style. The tons and tons of internet videos on You Tube are the proof that nobody needs professional equipment or even intelligence to make them, but if it’s actually the first time you’re gonna do it, you can start by reading YouTube’s tutorial, then this nice videomaker one, iMovie stuff for the Apple headz, Windows Movie Maker stuff for the PC ones, or even learn with the great old Tim Carter from Ask the Builder tutorial!

    Bonjour les amis _
Sans être ridicule, pouvons-nous en essayer de confectionner un Tutoriel en français ?
Tant de manuels sont uniquement en anglais …

Hi. It’s a pity you limit the videos to be at least 3 minutes. I have 11 music videos at YouTube and most of them are around 2,5 minutes, like a regular popsong. Now I had to pic one because of it’s length instead of its content, style or quality..
    Best regards!

i would like to join the contest but im not familiar with those plug ins, im familiar with fl studio and adobe related plug ins i use a m audio key rig 49 plug ins and even autotune, ohm is the terminology theory and study of base or bass sounds produced by diferent instruments and even vocal tones that create and atmosphere sound, i make hip hop more based on ohm, i dont have pro monitors but i have an amplifier with 12 inch ohm speakers and two sony component speaker monitors that do the job for me to listen to 46 khz to 96 khz, i just want to know if only those plug ins are acceptable, take care and may the latino hip hop movement live,

    Hi Augustin

Although FL Studio is a nice piece of software, in this specific contest we’re running we’re focusing on Ohm Force plugins, actually how do you use them in your music production. I invite you to download the demos or even the free standalone versions and, maybe you’ll find brand new sound possibilities for your Latino Hip Hop tunes. Good luck!
